HORSE RIDING IN & AROUND THE WYRE FOREST AREA

The Wyre Forest area has much to offer the horse rider. Rides through peaceful countryside, along forest tracks, bridleways and over open common land are all within easy reach.Riding schools in the area offer extensive riding activities. Trekking and hacking are available at most of the establishments but riding experience is essential in both cases. For further details please contact the relevant riding school.

Bridleways within the Wyre Forest are well marked but they are not numerous. If riders wish to use other paths in the forest it is necessary to obtain a permit/pass. Day passes costing £2.50 are issued from the Wyre Forest Visitor Centre Tel. 01299 266944. Passes covering longer periods, i.e 4 or 12 months are only available from The Forestry Commission at Cannock. These can be applied for by post and the forms are available from Wyre Forest Visitor Centre.
